51 23 220 Removing and installing/replacing Bowden cable for engine compartment lid at rear

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Only perform work after engine has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unclip clutch housing Bowden cable (1) at marked points.

Lever out clutch housing cover (3) in direction of arrow and fold back.

Feed rear Bowden cable (2) out of sliding block (1) and clutch housing (3).

Footwell area, driver's side: 

Lever Bowden cable (1) out of actuator for unlocking engine compartment lid (2).

Pull Bowden cable (1) out of bulkhead penetration (2).

Installation: 

Make sure Bowden cable (1) is correctly laid.
