52 14 010 Removing and installing/replacing both seat rails on left or right front seat

Necessary preliminary tasks

Remove driver's or passenger seat . See 52 14 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE or 52 14 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE .
Remove lower strap . See 72 11 071 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LOWER STRAP FITTING (BELT TENSIONER), FRONT PASSENGER SEAT or 72 11 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LOWER BELT FITTING (BELT TENSIONER), DRIVER'S SEAT (belt tensioner).
Remove TRIMS FOR TOP RAIL .

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) on drive for longitudinal seat adjustment.

Release left and right screws (1).

Tightening torque 52 10 06AZ .

Release nuts (2) on left and right on carrier plate.

Remove seat rails with motor carrier plate.

Replacement only

Release screws (1).

Detach left or right seat rail from flex-shaft.

Detach motor retaining plate with drive and flex-shaft from opposite seat rail.

Installation:

PTFE hoses are shrink-fitted onto end pieces.

Check that hoses are free from damage.
