51 24 015 Adjusting tailgate catch for tailgate lower section

Prerequisite:

Tailgate must be correctly adjusted to fit; if necessary, ADJUST TAILGATE .

For ideal setting, refer to 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

Adjust tailgate catch for TAILGATE UPPER SECTION if necessary.

Depending on version, press in or screw in bump stop (1) on tailgate on left and right completely.

NOTE: Operation is described in:

Lever out protective cap (1).

Slacken nuts (1) until striker (2) can still just be moved and centers itself.

IMPORTANT: Striker (2) must not brush against tailgate lock.

Close tailgate.

Check 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS . and locking comfort.

If necessary, repeat procedure.

NOTE: When the tailgate is closed, the striker must not touch or scrape against the tailgate lock. Look out for scratch marks.

Open tailgate.

Tighten down nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 24 8AZ .

Adjust bump stops (1) on tailgate.

Version with rear view camera:

After adjusting, check rear view camera and if necessary RECALIBRATE .
