• Check wiring harness/connectors between DME and VANOS solenoid valve.
• Replace the VANOS solenoid valve.

Following applies to all other versions:

Check wires and plug connections between the following components:

• Digital Motor Electronics.
• VANOS solenoid valve, inlet

Replace VANOS solenoid valve, inlet.
