61 62 180 Replacing the hose pipe for the rear wiper

Necessary preliminary tasks

PARTIALLY REMOVE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT CARPET .
PARTIALLY REMOVE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL ARCH PANEL .
REMOVE COWL PANEL COVER .
REMOVE MICROFILTER HOUSING left or right.

Observe modified hose run.

Old hose pipe remains in the vehicle.

Run hose pipe (1) with water pump connector from the engine compartment outward (arrow) to the washer fluid pump.

NOTE: Washer fluid will escape when the hose pipe is pulled off. Have a suitable collecting vessel and cleaning cloth ready. Observe filling capacities of fluid reservoir.

Disconnect old hose pipe (1) and connect with new hose pipe for rear wiper (2).

Installation note:

Ensure correct locking.

Run hose pipe (1) as shown and secure with hose support (2).

Release screw (2).

Run hose pipe (1) as shown behind wiper console.

Run hose pipe (1) as shown to the cable duct (3) and secure with hose support (2).

Cut out cable duct (1) with suitable tool.

Run hose pipe (1) from the engine compartment to passenger compartment through cable duct.

Attach hose pipe (1) with adhesive tape (2) to the wiring harness.

Installation note:

Do not use cable straps to attach!

IMPORTANT: Seal hose pipe (1) in area (2) with butyl tape!

Run of the hose pipe (1) in the left footwell through cable channel (2).

Secure hose pipe in the area (3) with adhesive tape.

Secure hose pipe for rear wiper (1) in the B-pillar area along the wiring harness with adhesive tape.

Remove cable strap (1).

Disconnect hose pipe (2) and connect with hose pipe for rear wiper (3).

Installation note:

Replace cable tie (1).
