Fault description

Diagnosis monitors the electrical connection between DME and the exhaust VANOS solenoid valve.

The fault is detected when there is a short to positive.

Possible fault cause:

• There is a short to positive on the line from the DME to the exhaust VANOS solenoid valve.
• Exhaust VANOS solenoid valve defective
