Fault description

Diagnosis monitors the electrical connection between DME and the intake VANOS solenoid valve.

The fault is detected when there is an open circuit (break).

Possible cause of fault:

• There is an open circuit (break) on the line from the DME to the intake VANOS solenoid valve.
• Power supply to intake VANOS solenoid valve defective
• Intake VANOS solenoid valve defective
