51 16 355 Removing and installing/replacing driver's side fold-down compartment

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove DECORATIVE STRIP ON DASHBOARD ON LEFT

Open fold-down compartment (1).

Unfasten screws (2).

NOTE: Fold-down compartment (2) is screwed onto holder (1) in area (A) and is fastened to dashboard in this way.

Remove holder (1) though opening.

Feed out fold-down compartment (2) in direction of arrow.
