51 23 211 Removing and installing/replacing pull cable for hood/bonnet locks at front

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unclip clutch housing Bowden cable (1) at marked points.

Installation note: 

Clips must not be damaged.

To open up clutch housing cover, lever up cover (2) in direction of arrow.

Feed rear Bowden cable (2) out of holder (1) and clutch housing (3).

NOTE: Depending on the version, two variants of the Bowden cable are possible.
Version 1  : Bowden cable rear intake silencer housing
Version 2  : Longer Bowden cable stored in the cross member

Version 1: 

Release Bowden cable (1) on holder (2).

Feed out Bowden cable (1).

Replacement: 

If a longer Bowden cable (1) installed, the Bowden cable must be installed as described in Option 2.

Version 2: 

Release Bowden cable (1) on holder (2).

Feed out Bowden cable (1).

NOTE: When converting from version 1 to version 2, the holder (2) must be retrofitted.
