61 14 040 Removing and installing/replacing rear positive battery cable distributor

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Clamp off BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT

If the control unit holder (2) is not installed, continue with the next operation.

Release the nut (1) and swivel the control unit holder (2) in the direction of arrow.

Tightening torque 61 35 8AZ .

If necessary, unlock associated plug connections (3) and disconnect.

Installation note:

Ensure that the control unit holder (2) is correctly seated.

Ensure the correct locking of the plug connections (3).

Release latches (1) and open cover (2).

Release and disconnect all plug connections in area (3).

Installation note:

Latches (1) on cover (2) must not be missing or damaged.

Make sure plug connections are correctly locked.

Release nut (1) and disconnect positive wire.

Tightening torque 61 21 4AZ .

Release nut (2) and remove power distribution box (3).

Tightening torque 61 21 2AZ .
