61 20 900 Disconnecting and connecting battery earth lead

Follow instructions FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY !
Observe notes on POWER SUPPLY/INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR (IBS) .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove BATTERY COVER

NOTE: With lead-acid battery (F2x only).

Loosen nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstances use force to pull off negative terminal.

Pull off battery earth lead (2) and IBS in an upward direction, place to one side and secure.

NOTE: With lead-acid battery (F3x only).

Loosen nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstances use force to pull off negative terminal.

Pull off battery negative lead and IBS (2) in an upward direction, place to one side and secure.

NOTE: For lithium ion battery (only F8x).

Loosen nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstances use force to pull off negative terminal.

Pull negative battery cable (2) up and off, place to one side and secure.
