Replacement:

The front electronic module (FEM) makes functions available from the former control units FRM, CAS, JBE and ZGM. After the FEM is replaced, it is therefore necessary to start up the integrated central gateway module (ZGM); during this process, the configuration of the vehicle and the connection in FlexRay is learned in again. An adjustment also needs to be performed on the electronic transmission control (EGS) and electric steering lock (ELV) after the FEM is replaced. In this case, the FEM transfers the individual code to the EGS or ELV. After the FEM is replaced, it is absolutely essential for all ID transmitters (ignition keys) to be re-initialized.
