64 11 973 Removing and installing or replacing ozone generator (before 09/2010)

NOTE: The ozone generator was installed on vehicles built before 09/2010.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL STORAGE COMPARTMENT

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unlock ozone generator (2) in direction of arrow and remove towards front from filter housing (3).

Installation note:

For purposes of clarity, illustration shows heating/air conditioning unit (1) removed.

Retaining lugs (3) on ozone generator (4) must be correctly engaged in guides on filter housing (3).
