12 51 245 Replacing wiring harness section for engine transmission module (N20, N26)

Necessary preliminary work:
- Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove intake PLENUM .
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .

Unlock and pull off the connector (1) from the power distribution module and cable holders.
Release the clamp (2) and expose the wiring harnesses.
| Unlock and disconnect following connectors and lines | |
| Unlock and disconnect connector on DME control unit | |
| Unlock connector on air conditioning compressor and disconnect | |
| Unlock connector on starter motor and disconnect | |
| Release ground cable of crankcase | |
| Unlock and disconnect connector for wiring harness section of engine sensor system module 1 | |
| Unlock connector on pressure converter and disconnect | |
| Unlock and disconnect connector on reversing light switch | Manual gearbox only |
| Unlock and disconnect connector from control unit on transfer box | All-wheel drive vehicles only |
| Unlock connector on transmission and disconnect | Automatic transmission only |
Release wiring harness if necessary from existing clips and clamps.
Feed out wiring harness and remove.
Installation note:
Check wiring harness installation arrangement.
Check plug connections for correct fit.
Check stored fault message.
Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
