51 24 004 Adjusting rear lid lock

Precondition:

Rear lid must be correctly adjusted to fit; if necessary, ADJUST REAR LID .

For ideal adjustment, refer to 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

Pull off the striker cover (1) from the trim (2) loading edge forwards and up.

Installation note:

Retaining tabs must not be damaged.

Release screws (1) on striker (2) so far that it can still be moved and centers itself.

Close the tailgate without force. The striker (2) adjusts itself automatically.

Open rear lid.

Tighten down screws (1) on striker (2).

Tightening torque 51 24 2AZ .

IMPORTANT: For checking. Striker (2) must not brush against rear lid lock.

Version with reversing camera:

After adjusting, check reversing camera and if necessary recalibrate.
