51 16 001 Removing and installing/replacing mirror on left or right front door

Special tools required:

Partially unclip door trim panel (1) in the area of the rearview mirror with special tool 00 9 325 .

Secure door trim panel (1) with suitable tool (2).

Partially loosen door window frame cover (3).

Press cover (1) and guide rubber (2) to one side.

Disconnect plug connection (3).

Release screws (4).

Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ .

Replacement only:

Due to the self-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new mirror is increased by 2 Nm.

Remove mirror (1) outwards.

Installation note:

The rubber sealing strip (1) must not be missing or damaged.

Run a function check.
