51 71 447 Removing and installing or replacing panel for cover on left or right side member

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Partially remove wheel arch trim at front and rear. See REMOVING COVER ON REAR WHEEL ARCH  and REMOVING TRIM ON FRONT WHEEL ARCH .

Release screws (1).

Unclip panel (1) at front.

Unclip panel (1) at rear from holders (2) and remove in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Catches (1) on holder (2) must not be damaged.

Installation: 

If necessary, detach holders (1) from body and fit on panel (2).

If necessary, replace faulty holders (1).
