Condition for fault identification

Test condition:

The fault is recognized when the calculated mass flow rate through the throttle valve is higher than the calculated mass flow rate into the cylinders on Bank 1 by 55 %.

Potential problem source(s):

• Measured intake-manifold pressure (absolute) too high
• Vacuum/air leak within induction tract/crankcase
• Incorrect throttle-valve angle
• Pressure sensor defective

  Terminal condition: Terminal 15

  Voltage condition:

• Electrical system voltage > 10 V

  Temperature condition:

  Coolant temperature > -10 °C

• -10°C < intake-air temperature < 90°C

  Time condition:

• Time after
• start
• > 0 sec.

  Other conditions:

• Reduced dynamic response (load/RPM)
• 80 mbar < intake-manifold pressure < 800 mbar
