52 13 040 Removing and installing/replacing outer cover on left or right front seat

Move seat fully forwards and upwards.

Pull lever forward to remove:

• If necessary, lever out lower locking point (1) from rear with a screwdriver.

Release screw (2).

Remove trim:

1. Unclip at top edge
2. Unclip at rear towards top side
3. Pull on belt opening
4. Unlock lugs
5. Carefully remove trim towards front

Unfasten plug connection.

Replacement only: 

Remove switch  . See 61 31 204 REPLACING OPERATING UNIT FOR SEAT ADJUSTMENT or 61 31 208 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SWITCH FOR FRONT LUMBAR SUPPORT .

Depending on version, cut-outs for buttons in cover may need to be reworked.

Installation note: 

Retaining clips and tabs must not be damaged.
