51 71 038 Removing And Installing/Replacing Front Left Or Right Wheel Arch Cover (Front Section)

Necessary preliminary tasks

NOTE: Work shown on the 320d by way of example; there may be differences in detail on other models.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Unscrew nut (3).

Remove the cover of the wheel arch and disconnect the plug connection on the trigger transmitter.

Installation note:

Ensure that the wheel arch cover and air duct (4) are correctly fitted.

Replacement

Modify lid (1 and 2).

Modify the air duct (3).

Version with Tyre Pressure Control:

Version with M Technic Aerodynamic package:

Release screws (1).

Remove the cover of the lower section (2).

NOTE: Front axle removed for purposes of clarity.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Release nuts (3) and remove wheel arch cover (4).

Installation:

Ensure wheel arch cover (4) is correctly seated.
