Condition for fault identification

Test condition:

The fault is recognized when, at the lower mechanical travel stop position (throttle valve completely closed) the voltage data for both throttle valve sensors are outside the valid range (Sensor 1: 0.5 V +/- 0.3 V; Sensor 2: 4.5 V +/- 0.3 V)

Potential problem source(s):

• Throttle valve operation impaired by contamination
• Defect in wiring harness between throttle-valve actuator motor and DME
• Defective throttle valve

Terminal condition: Terminal 15

Voltage condition:

• Electrical system voltage > 10 V

Temperature condition:

• Intake air temperature > -10 °C
• Coolant temperature > -10 °C
• Coolant temperature < 142 °C

Time condition:

• 5 sec.

Other conditions:

• Engine off
• No other throttle valve diagnostic fault codes logged in control module fault memory
