Condition for fault identification

Test condition:

The fault is recognized when throttle valve 2 fails to reach the specified position of 2.5° in the specified period (roughly 0.6 sec.).

Potential problem source(s):

• Operation of throttle valve 2 impaired by dirt/contamination
• Defect in wiring harness between DME and throttle valve 2
• Throttle valve 2 defective

Terminal condition: Terminal 15

Voltage condition:

• Electrical system voltage > 10 V

Temperature condition:

• Intake air temperature > -10 °C
• Coolant temperature > -10 °C
• Coolant temperature < 142 °C

Time condition:

• 5 sec.

Other conditions:

• Engine off
• No other throttle valve diagnostic fault codes logged in control module fault memory
