Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the throttle valve fails to reach the specified position of 2.5° in the specified period (roughly 0.6 sec.).
Potential problem source(s):
- Throttle valve operation impaired by contamination
- Defective wiring harness between DME and throttle valve
- Defective throttle valve
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- Intake air temperature > -10 °C
- Coolant temperature > -10 °C
- Coolant temperature < 142 °C
Time condition:
- 5 sec.
Other conditions:
- Engine off
- No other throttle valve diagnostic fault codes logged in control module fault memory
