Condition for fault identification

Test condition:

The fault is recognized when a short circuit to positive is present during transmission of a control-activation signal to the exhaust flap's electric pilot valve.

Potential problem source(s):

• Defect in wiring harness between DME and electric exhaust-flap pilot valve
• Electric exhaust-flap pilot valve is defective

Terminal condition: Terminal 15

Voltage condition:

• Electrical system voltage > 10 V

Temperature condition:

• None

Time condition:

• 5 sec.

Other conditions:

• Component must receive activation signal
