11 61 050 Removing and installing air intake manifold (N54)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear IGNITION COIL COVER
Remove rear left CHARGE-AIR DUCT

Detach vacuum hose (2) carefully.

Release tank venting connection (1).

Installation:

Tank venting connection (1) must snap audibly into place!

Release vacuum line (5) from line holder (3).

Release rubber holder (4) from guide.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Installation:

Plug connection (1) must snap audibly into place!

Unclip line (2) from line holder.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Installation:

Plug connection (1) must snap audibly into place!

Unclip line (2) from mounting (not shown).

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 11 61 1AZ .

Unscrew nuts (3).

Tightening torque 11 61 2AZ .

Raise air intake manifold (2) approx. 10 - 15 cm (see arrow).

NOTE: Cable duct (1) with holder (2) and engine wiring harness are located under intake ducts.

Unclip cable duct (1) from holder (2) at positions (3) and expose in downward direction.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Installation:

Plug connection (1) must snap audibly into place!

Lift out intake air manifold.

IMPORTANT: Cover intake entries (1) with suitable apparatus to prevent objects getting into them.

Installation:

Sealing faces must be free from oil and grease.

Installation:

Replace gaskets (1).

Assemble engine.

Check air intake system for leaks.
