51 12 156 Removing and installing rear bumper panel

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Lever out cover (1) and release screw underneath.

Release screw (1).

Bend wheel arch panel (2) in area (A) to one side.

Release screw (3).

Release screws (1 to 3).

NOTE: The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.
IMPORTANT: Do not pull off bumper panel (3) to the sides. (Risk of damage).

Press bumper panel (3) at point (1) downwards and simultaneously pull to the rear-upwards at point (2) in the direction of the arrow and so, release the latch mechanisms.

Version with PDC: 

Disconnect plug connection of the ultrasonic sensors.

Remove bumper panel (1) towards the rear with the aid of an assistant.

Installation note: 

Latch mechanisms on bumper panel (1) must not be damaged.
