Overview of rear window bonding (E90)
Attach special tool 51 3 010 twice to tool trolley. Moisten suction faces and secure rear window from outside. If reusing removed rear window, remove adhesive residue down to 0.5 mm.
Fit rubber frame (5 and 6) with the aid of the center markings.
Almost vertical part (B) of adhesive bead (1) must be facing window edge.
In areas (G and H), a greater amount of adhesive bead (1) is applied to fix the rubber frame (6).
Dimensions (A to C) for areas (G and H): (A) = 11 ±1 mm, (B) = 13-2 mm, (C) = 1-1 mm.

Open tailgate.
Carefully working on rear window with special tool 51 3 010 :
- Set position at top at distance (A) to roof edge
- Align sides evenly
- Insert at bottom and press down
- If necessary press the rear window upwards and set gap dimension (A)
- Secure in terms of height in this position at top with yellow plastic adhesive tapes (1)
A = 7±1 mm
Preload on top of windscreen to prevent wind noise:
Rear window (1) must be lower than roof outer skin (2). This is the only way to prevent wind noises.
Position special tool 51 0 010 in center of vehicle depending on dimension (A) and check underprotrusion of rear window (1).
Rear window stand (A):
A = 2.0 ±1.0 mm
X = Measurement stages 1... 4 mm
