51 71 038 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right wheel arch cover (front section)

NOTE: Prior to removing, pay attention to the exact installation position with respect to the adjoining components.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

NOTE: The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, graphic does not show front axle.

Release screws (1).

Slacken nut (2).

Feed out wheel arch cover (3).

Installation note:

If the wheels are fully turned it may lead to abrasion on the wheel arch cover (1) from the tires.

Fit wheel arch cover (1) at limit position by pushing in direction of travel and tightening screws (2).

Replace faulty sheet metal nuts (1).
