18 00 020 Removing and installing complete exhaust system (Coupe)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Support exhaust system with special tool 31 2 220. 

NOTE: Weight of exhaust system is approx. 40 kg.

Release flanged nuts on both exhaust manifolds with integrated catalytic converter.

Installation: 

Replace self-locking nuts.

Release nuts.

Release screws.

Remove reinforcement plate.

Installation: 

Tightening torque, see 51 61 7AZ  in 51 61 REINFORCEMENT, BODY

WARNING: Risk of injury!
Removal of the exhaust system must be carried out with the assistance of a second person.
NOTE: Weight of exhaust system is approx. 40 kg.

Detach rubber element from holder.

Release nut.

Remove holder of rear muffler.

Release nut.

Remove holder on tailpipe.

Detach hose from vacuum unit.

Carefully lower exhaust system.
