64 12 670 Replacing front electric auxiliary heater

Necessary preliminary work

Remove SUPPORT FOR DASHBOARD

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, the following graphics show the heating and air-conditioning unit removed.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screws (1).

Lay servomotor (2) to one side.

Release screws (1).

Release screws (2) and remove housing side section (2).

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screw (2).

Pull out electric auxiliary heater (3) and detach associated earthing cable (4).

Installation note:

Make sure earthing cable (4) is securely seated.

IMPORTANT: On vehicles with production date up to 03 essential in the case of spare parts to observe the part number of the auxiliary heater!

In the case of the following part numbers no ad necessary:

6 968 178
9 151 309
9 185 403

These part numbers may no longer be installed production date from 03/2010!

For vehicles with production dates up to 03/2010 part numbers PROGRAMMING/ENCODING must be carried out.

In addition, perform conversion in the diagnosis path:

Retrofit Electric Auxiliary Heater/Nachrus Zuheizer

Vehicles that have production dates after 03/2010 part numbers do not require any additional work
