51 24 165 Removing and installing/replacing side left or right rear lid buffer stops

Special tools required:

00 9 317 , see 00 9 317 TRIM PANEL WEDGE .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove luggage compartment capping, see 51 47 156 Removing and installing/replacing left or right capping in luggage compartment .

NOTE: The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

Lever out clips (1) with special tool 00 9 317 at water gutter trim (2) , see 51 71 387 Removing and installing/replacing rear water gutter trim (rear lid) on left or right .

Detach mucket (3) along water gutter (2).

Release screws (2) and nuts (3) on stop.

Installation:

Adjust both buffer stops (1) (work is described in ADJUSTING REAR LID .

Tightening torque for screws (2) 41 62 9AZ , see 41 62 REAR LID .

Tightening torque for nuts (3) 41 62 9AZ , see 41 62 REAR LID .
