11 22 000 Removing and installing/replacing flywheel (automatic M57T2)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect battery negative terminal
Remove and install center equipment compartment bulkhead (E65 only)
Remove tension strut (E60 only)
Remove and install front assembly underside protection
Remove and install automatic transmission. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Block flywheel (1) with special tools 11 9 260/11 9 266/11 9 264.

Unfasten flywheel screws.

Installation:

Tightening torque, see 11 22 1AZ in 11 22 FLYWHEEL .

Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.

Fit new flywheel screws.

Clean crankshaft thread for flywheel screws.

Remove flywheel (1).

Assemble engine.
