51 12 201 Replacing Rear Left Or Right Bumper Side Section

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 321 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove left or right rear light  . See 63 21 180 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR LIGHT (IN SIDE PANEL) .
• Remove left or right rear reflector  . See 63 14 120 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR REFLECTOR .
• Remove rear section of rear wheel arch liner  . See 51 71 478 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM ON REAR LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH .

Release screw (1).

Release screws (1).

Release side bumper trim (3) at catches (4).

Release screw (2) underneath.

Release bumper side section (1) at catches (2) in direction of arrow.

Unclip bumper side section (1) in area (A).

Pull bumper side section (1) outwards slightly and release catches (2) with special tool 00 9 321. 

Remove bumper side section (1).

Installation: 

Catches on bumper side section and bracket must not be damaged.

Installation: 

Clip in bumper side section (1) first from rear (A) and then at side (B)
