51 32 390 Removing And Installing / Replacing Decorative Strip On Front Left Or Right Door

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Open door window.
• Remove gasket on door seam/roof frame  . See 51 21 360 REPLACING SEAL FOR DOOR SEAM/ROOF FRAME ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .
• Remove rear-view mirror  on front door. See 51 16 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING MIRROR ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .

Pull off decorative strip (1) in direction of arrow from retainers (2).

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty retainers (1 and 2) on decorative strip (3).

Make sure retainers are installed in correct positions.

1. Thin retainer (silver)
2. Thick retainer (black)
