Removing Top Storage Tray (Drawer) From Function Carrier:

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2005 BMW 745i, 2005 BMW 745Li, 2004 BMW 745i, 2004 BMW 745Li, and 2003 BMW 745i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Version with cordless keypad handset (telephone):

If necessary, remove eject box (cordless keypad handset). Refer to 84 11 610 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING EJECT BOX (CORDLESS KEYPAD HANDSET) .

Version without telephone:

Unlock and open storage tray (drawer).

IMPORTANT: Cover decorative strip with a protective cover (1) to prevent scratching.

Detach drawer (4) from function carrier as follows:

With a 1 mm feeler gauge (2)
Release lock (3) by turning
Pull storage tray towards rear out of function carrier and set down on protective cover (1)

NOTE: A hand mirror (4) will be required for viewing.

Installation:

Springs (1) must be correctly connected in mountings (2).

Catch (3) must not be damaged.
