12 51 100 Replacing wiring harness section for ignition coil (N62)

Switch off ignition.

Installation:

Make sure seal of wiring harness section for ignition coils is correctly installed in electronics box.

REPLACING IGNITION COIL WIRING HARNESS WORK STEPS

Work step	Note:
Remove acoustic cover
Remove ignition coil cover.	This work step is described in the section "Replacing ignition coil". Refer to 12 13 511 Replacing ignition coil (N62) .
Remove center of assembly compartment bulkhead. Refer to 51 71 085 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CENTER OF ASSEMBLY COMPARTMENT BULKHEAD .
Remove electronics box cover. Refer to 12 14 550 Replacing control unit (Digital Motor Electronics) (N62) .
Detach grounding cable from cylinder head cover.
Unclip cable duct.
Unlock plug connections on ignition coils and disconnect.	Do not remove ignition coils This work step is described in the section "Replacing ignition coil". Refer to 12 13 511 Replacing ignition coil (N62) .
Unlock and detach plug connections on DME control unit.	Disconnect only plug connections of wiring harness section for ignition coils
Detach grounding cable from spring strut dome.
Unclip and remove wiring harness.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Now clear the fault memory.
