51 16 248 Removing and installing/replacing lock on rear storage box

Necessary preliminary task:

Remove cover on trim for rear storage box. See 51 16... Removing And Installing Cover On Panel For Rear Storage Box .

Release screws (1) on lock (2).

Installation:

Press lock (2) to right (3) and tighten screws (1).

Release spring washer (1).

Withdraw pin with spring washer (2).

Disconnect cable (3) from mounting (4).

Pull trims for glove box (1) in direction of arrow and pull out lock (2) in direction of arrow towards bottom.

Feed cable (3) out of guides (4)

Remove lock (2).

Installation:

Lay emergency release cable (3) correctly in guides (4) of lock (2).

Installation:

Join lock and servomotor correctly.

Press lock (2) to right (3) and tighten screws (1).
