64 51 527 Removing And Installing/Replacing Expansion Valve (With Rear A/C System)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Draw off refrigerant from A/C system. Refer to 64 50 009 DRAWING OFF, EVACUATING AND FILLING A/C SYSTEM (R 134A) .
Remove expansion valve cover. Refer to 64 51 525 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING EXPANSION VALVE (AUTOMATIC A/C HIGH) .
Remove trim in center console at front left. Refer to 51 16 195 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CENTER ARMREST (FRONT)

Remove foam cover (1) in direction of arrow.

Expose screw heads (2).

Release screws (1).

Detach refrigerant lines (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Replace sealing rings.

Release screw (1).

Detach refrigerant lines (2) in direction of arrow.

Remove plate (3).

Installation:

Replace sealing rings.

Release screws (1).

Detach refrigerant lines (2) in direction of arrow.

If necessary, remove plate (3).

Remove expansion valve.
