64 51 525 Removing And Installing/Replacing Expansion Valve (Automatic A/C High)

IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage! Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.
NOTE:
If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours: Replacing drier insert for A/C system. Refer to 51 45 185 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Draw off refrigerant from A/C system. Refer to 64 50 009 DRAWING OFF, EVACUATING AND FILLING A/C SYSTEM (R 134A) .
- Remove trim panel for pedal assembly. Refer to 51 45 185 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY .
After installation:
- Evacuate and fill A/C system. Refer to 64 50... SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING REFRIGERANT R 134A .
Release screw (1).
Remove left footwell air duct (2) in direction of arrow.
Installation:
Make sure left footwell air duct (2) is correctly seated.
Release screws (1).
If necessary, unclip plug connection.
Remove expansion valve cover (2) in direction of arrow.
Installation:
Retaining hooks (1) must engage fully in mounts (2).
Release screw (1).
Detach refrigerant lines (2) in direction of arrow.
Remove plate (3).
Release screws (1).
Detach refrigerant lines (2) in direction of arrow.
Remove plate (3).
Remove expansion valve.
Installation:
Replace all sealing rings (1).
