51 16 185 Removing And Installing/Replacing Decorative Trims On Center Console Carrier Section

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove center console function carrier. Refer to 51 16 188 REPLACING BASE FOR CENTER CONSOLE ON STORAGE TRAY .

Release screws (1).

Remove carrier (2) from decorative trim (3) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Make sure guide (3) is correctly seated in carrier (2).

WARNING: Failure to comply with the following note will result in potential personal injury.

NOTE: Secure coil spring (1) against springing out, e.g. with an extension (2). Unlock retaining hook (3) and gently pull out decorative trim (4).

Pull coil spring (1) with flat nose pliers (2) out of mount and place over carrier (3) as illustrated.

Pull out decorative trim (4) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

Make sure coil spring (1) is correctly seated in mount.
