34 51 527 Removing And Installing/Replacing DSC Hydraulic Unit

NOTE: Read and comply with General Information. Refer to 34 00 ... GENERAL INFORMATION . Observe safety instructions on raising the vehicle. Refer to 00..... LIFTING VEHICLE WITH A LIFTING PLATFORM . After completing tasks, bleed brake system. Refer to 34 00 025 REPLACING FLUID IN ABS/ASC+T BRAKE SYSTEM .

When replacing control unit:

Load and block brake pedal with pedal support.

Release coolant expansion tank (1) and place to one side Not for vehicles with M67 engines.

IMPORTANT: Do not mix up brake pipes (mark if necessary).

Unfasten brake lines.

Installation: 

Tightening torque, refer to 34 32 1AZ in BRAKES - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Line connections:

(F) From brake master cylinder, circuit F, to hydraulic unit, circuit F (front-axle brake circuit).

(R) From brake master cylinder, circuit R, to hydraulic unit, circuit R (rear-axle brake circuit).

(FR) From hydraulic unit FR to wheel brake, front right.

(FL) From hydraulic unit FL to wheel brake, front left.

(RR) From hydraulic unit RR to wheel brake, rear right.

(RL) From hydraulic unit RL to wheel brake, rear left.

IMPORTANT: Do not bend brake lines.

Unlock plug connection (1) in direction (2) and detach vertically upwards.

Installation: 

Position plug connection (1) vertically on control unit in order to avoid damaging pins.

Disconnect plug connection (4).

Release screw (5) and remove hydraulic unit. The following components must be modified when the hydraulic unit is replaced:
