34 33 505 Removing And Installing/Replacing Brake Booster

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Observe safety instructions on raising the vehicle. Refer to 00..... LIFTING VEHICLE WITH A LIFTING PLATFORM .

Detach retaining clip (1) on brake pedal.

IMPORTANT: Make sure retaining clip (1) is correctly seated. If necessary, replace retaining clip (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Installation: 

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque, refer to 35 11 1AZ in PEDALS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Pull out pin (3).

IMPORTANT: Do not use any force when removing and installing the brake unit; the brake unit can be damaged under certain circumstances.

Unclip brake lines from holder and carefully press to one side.

IMPORTANT: Brake lines must not be bent!

Carefully pull the brake unit out of the bulkhead swing it out.

IMPORTANT: Brake booster is highly sensitive to damage in area (3). Such damage may cause the brake booster to malfunction.

Installation: 

Install the adapter plate (1). Replace the gasket (2) if necessary.
