18 40 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Right Exhaust Manifold (N73)

WARNING:
Scalding hazard! Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Remove right oxygen control sensor. Refer to 11 78 533 REPLACING RIGHT LAMBDA OXYGEN CONTROL SENSOR (N73) .
- Remove right oxygen monitor sensor. Refer to 11 78 543 REPLACING RIGHT LAMBDA OXYGEN MONITOR SENSOR (N73) .
- Remove complete exhaust system. Refer to 18 00 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM (N73) .
- Secure engine in installation position with special tool.
- Remove intake filter housing.
- Lower front axle support.
For purposes of clarity, nuts are shown on removed engine.
Release nuts on exhaust manifold.
Remove exhaust manifold towards bottom and pull out towards rear.
Illustrations show N62.
Installation:
Replace seals.
Seal beads faces the exhaust manifold.
Coat threads with copper paste.
Replace nuts.
Tightening torque, refer to 11 62 1AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Assemble exhaust system.
Installation:
Check exhaust system for leaks.
Check function of DME.
