17 11 120 Removing and installing/replacing radiator for charge air cooler (N63, S63)

IMPORTANT:
When carrying out repair work on the cooling circuit, protect the alternator from dirt contamination.
Cover alternator with suitable materials.
Failure to comply with this procedure may result in an alternator malfunction.
Necessary preliminary tasks
- Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Partially remove the FAN COWL .
- Detach the AIR DUCT from the radiator. Do not remove the air duct. Pull the air duct forward only.
- Drain coolant for charge air cooler.
Release screws.
Remove cover (1).
NOTE:
For purposes of clarity, radiator air duct is removed in the illustration.
Unlock and disconnect coolant hoses (1).
Lift out radiator for charge air cooler (2).
Unlock and disconnect coolant hoses (1).
Lift out radiator for charge air cooler (2).
Assemble engine.
After completing repair work, top charge air cooler up with coolant.
Vent COOLING SYSTEM FOR CHARGE AIR COOLER .
Check cooling system for tightness.
Assemble engine.
