51 12 156 Removing and installing rear bumper trim

Necessary preliminary tasks 

Version with Park Distance Control (PDC): 

Remove STORAGE COMPARTMENT IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT ON RIGHT .

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Feed through cable (2) with grommet (3) in outward direction.

Release screws (1).

Release screws (1) on left and right.

Release screw (1).

Release bumper trim (2) at catches (3).

LCI and M models only: 

Open rear lid lower section (2) through 45° and secure in this position with tensioning strap (1).

Release catches (1) and with a 2nd person helping pull bumper trim (2) towards rear out of catches (1) and remove.

Installation: 

Bumper trim (2) must be correctly fed in at catches (1).
