52 14 000 Removing and installing left or right front seat (normal/electric)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

WARNING: Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners. Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.

Switch off ignition!

Adjust front seat as far forward and upward as possible.

Unfasten screws.

Tightening torque, refer to 52 10 1AZ in SEATS - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 545I (4.4L) E60/N62 .

Release screw (1) for belt mounting.

Move front seat as far back as possible.

Raise bridge (1) on front right seat rail cover slightly and unlock.

Pull cover forwards to remove.

Press rocker switch (1) on front left seat rail cover and unlock.

Gently slide cover (2) towards front.

Carefully unlock inside edge (3) from inside.

Pull cover forwards to remove.

Release front screws on left and right seat rails.

Tightening torque, refer to 52 10 1AZ in SEATS - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 545I (4.4L) E60/N62 .

Installation: 

Floor carpet must not project between seat rail and floor board in area of screw-down points (grinding noises).

Carefully tip seat towards rear.

Unclip cover (1) towards front.

Disconnect plug connections (yellow and black) on seat modules.

IMPORTANT: Remove door sill with protective covers (damage to vehicle).

Lift out front seat.
