51 16 201 Replacing storage compartment

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove storage compartment. Refer to 51 16 200 REMOVING AND INSTALLING STORAGE COMPARTMENT .
• Remove controller. Refer to 61 31 195 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) FRONT CONTROLLER .

Disconnect plug (1).

Release screws (2) and lift out insert (3).

Release screws (1) on inside of storage compartment and remove trim (2).

Release nuts (1) on inside of storage compartment and remove trim (2).

If necessary, lever out trim (1) and release screw underneath.

Release screws (2) and feed out guide cover (3) towards rear.

Version with center armrest/storage tray: 

Release screws (1).

Release screws (2) and remove bracket (3).

Feed out center armrest (1) with storage tray (2) towards top rear.

Security version: 

Cut storage compartment as illustrated (1).

If necessary, replace faulty retaining clips (2).
