41 51 080 Removing And Installing/Replacing Front Left Or Right Door

IMPORTANT: Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Cars with side airbags:
Observe AIRBAG SAFETY REGULATIONS .

The illustrations are schematic representations and are to be applied to the relevant vehicle type.

Open door.

Security version: 

Rear reflector is modified. New component must be trimmed and glued (this is described in the following).

WARNING: Side airbag is installed in door trim panel: DISCONNECT BATTERY

Release screw on connector frame.

Release screws between both hinge elements at top and bottom.

Tightening torque: see 1AZ in 41 51 FRONT DOORS

Release screw (1) on door retainer.

Unhinge door by moving upwards and placing it on a suitable surface.

Pull plug connection from door pillar, unlock by pulling out bar and detach.

Installation: 

If necessary, adjust front door  .

Replacement only: 

Rivet down blind rivet nuts (1) for control unit.

Security version: 

Trim grommet (1) on rear reflector rubber housing at edge (2) and glue with window adhesive  in same position as standard model.
