51 12 162 Removing and installing/replacing rear bottom middle bumper trim

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove trim for bumper trim, see 51 12 223 Removing and installing/replacing trim for rear bottom middle bumper trim .

Release expansion rivet (1).

Version with Park Distance Control (PDC):

Remove storage compartment in luggage compartment on right, see 51 47... Removing and installing/replacing storage compartment in luggage compartment on left or right .

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Feed through cable (2) with grommet (3) in outward direction.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Unclip lower section (3) and remove.

Installation:

Catches (1) must not be damaged

Replacement:

Remove ultrasonic transducer , see 66 20 518 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING A FRONT ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER (CENTRE) .
Remove wiring harness
