Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS

CAUTION: Do not damage adjoining body components.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front bumper trim. See 51 11 156 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BUMPER TRIM .
Remove wheel arch cover at front. See 51 71 038 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER (FRONT SECTION) .
Remove trim for cover on side member. See 51 71 447 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING PANEL FOR COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE MEMBER .
Remove trim on wheel arch. See 51 71 470 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM ON FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH .
Remove gutter strip. See 51 31 023 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT GUTTER STRIP ALONG WINDSCREEN .
Remove auxiliary direction indicator. See 63 13 200 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT AUXILIARY DIRECTION INDICATOR .
Release high-pressure nozzle for headlight washer system from side panel. See 61 67 100 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING HIGH-PRESSURE NOZZLE OF HEADLIGHT WASHER SYSTEM ON LEFT (OR RIGHT) .

Release screws.

NOTE: Side panel and headlight are removed together.

Tightening torque 41 35 6AZ , see 41 35 SIDE PANELS

Tightening torque 41 35 7AZ , see 41 35 SIDE PANELS .

Tightening torque 41 35 8AZ , see 41 35 SIDE PANELS .

Tightening torque 41 35 9AZ , see 41 35 SIDE PANELS .

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 41 35 6AZ , see 41 35 SIDE PANELS .

Unlock plug (1) for headlight (2) and disconnect.

Release screws (3).

Tightening torque 41 35 6AZ , see 41 35 SIDE PANELS .

Pull out retainer (1) in direction of arrow.

Take off side panel.

NOTE: When the headlight is fitted, the side panel's center of gravity is very far forward!

Installation:
